New enhancements in Trace Parts 2.5.9
This page contains information concerning the new features in TraceParts DVD version 2.5.9, compared to version 2.5.3.For more information about this new release, please read the "Helpdesk" of TraceParts DVD.
Installation
New features
» TraceParts DVD v2.5.9 can be installed without prior uninstallation on any version equal or higher than 2.5.0
» While installing TraceParts DVD v2.5.9 on a previous version, the setup program only upgrades what is necessary.
Changes
The "Massive deployment" installation type installs the necessary components for the license protection.
For instance, in the case of a floating license, the installation program will automatically install and configure the client NLM.

New features » Support of 64-bit editions of Windows XP and Windows 2003. » Support of Windows VISTA (excluding 64-bits edition). » Support of 64-bit version of most of the CAD softwrae, especially CATIA V5, Autodesk Inventor, Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire, SolidWorks and TopSolid. Please refer to the minimum supported versions for each of these software in the section "Notes related to the CAD software compatible with TraceParts" below. » Changes to the Graphical User Interface (GUI): revamped icons, display of the logo of each catalog in the drop down list of catalogs and above this list. » New export formats (without direct insertion) : Google SketchUp, 3D XML (Dassault Systemes), 3D DWG and 3D DXF. » Possibility to export image files in different formats (JPEG, GIF, TIFF, BMP, PNG, etc.) and different sizes from each part instance. Possibility to copy into the Windows clipboard the image of the current view of the 3D viewer. This new feature is especially useful for the creation of technical documents without having to use a CAD software. » TraceParts GUI is translated into 10 new languages: simplified Chinese, Hungarian, Polish, Russian, Turkish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Korean, Japanese, Swedish. Parts manufacturers available in TraceParts DVD have not necessarily translated their catalogs into all these new languages. » New way to browse the catalogs: visual browsing by folders. » New administration module for the parts database: it's possible to prevent the users from instantiating as CAD files a complete catalog, or a part family, or a part number or even a part instance. This new feature requires a specific license. » 3D viewer: » Possibility to unactivate the automatic zoom fit command between each part selection. » Possibility to display the viewer background as colors which shade off gradually. » New feature of smart motion/transition effect between each instance and between each standard view of the same instance (this new effect is unactivated by default but it can be activated through TraceParts configuration panel). |

Changes
» The problem which caused the list of preset BoM data to be always empty has been fixed.
» The problem which did not allow TraceParts to use accentuated characters in the definition of paths has been fixed.
» For the floating licenses protected by NLM: the NLM module has been updated so that the installation directory can be customized.
