TraceParts DVD: new enhancements in latest release

Installation

» TraceParts DVD 2010 (2.6.1) can be installed above any TraceParts version equal to or higher than 2.5.0
» During the installation of TraceParts DVD 2010 (2.6.1) above a previous version, the installation programm will only update the necessary software components.
» The type of installation "Massive deployment" will install the necessary software components for the protection system to be used with TraceParts. For instance, if you are using a floating license, TraceParts installation program will automatically install and setup the NLM client software.

Application

New features

» Support of Windows Vista 64 bits.

» Support of both the 64-bit and the Synchronous Technology (ST) 1.0 versions of Solid Edge.

» New management system of parts catalogs: catalogs which were up to now listed inside TraceParts DVD but only usable via the Web can now be installed and used on your PC, even if you are not connected to the Web.

» BoM attributes: in each part you insert from TraceParts, a unique instance number is created inside the BoM attributes of the model. This information can then be used to link TraceParts database with a PLM / PDM / ERP system.

» External database link module: queries can now use the internal ID of each part family (advanced use).

» New context sensitive messages are displayed to explain the use of the parts parameters nouveaux (depending on the catalogs).

Changes

» Improved compatibility with CATIA V5, Solid Edge and SolidWorks.
» Several minor corrections and changes which do not affect the user interface.

New features :
» Support of CATIA V5R19 in 32 and 64 bits
» It is now possible to prevent the modification of the BoM attributes for parts instantiated by TraceParts DVD (advanced use).
change: Improved "Add your own parts" feature.

Inventor
New features :
» Support of Inventor 2010 in 32 and 64 bits
» Add your own parts" feature: users can now add their own native Inventor parts or assemblies (IPT and IAM) to TraceParts DVD. This new feature requires Inventor 11 at minimum.

Pro/ENGINEER
New: Support of non standard installations of Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire.
change: The minimum version to be used with TraceParts DVD is Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 1.0 (Pro/ENGINEER 2001 is no more supported).

Solid Edge
new: Support of Solid Edge ST 1.0 and Solid Edge v20, in 32 and 64 bits.
change: Improved driver for Solid Edge with a better robustness.

SolidWorks
New: Support of SolidWorks 2009 and 2010

thinkdesign
