Adding a set of components
Buttons
At this stage, all the files have a red tick in front of them. These red ticks mean that the components are not ready to be added to the library. You can also notice that the "OK" button that starts the adding process remains greyed. Everything described below when one file is selected is also true when several files are selected at once. "Classifications" and "Documents" tabs become active and allow the user to associate the selected file to one or more classification (that means it defines the place in the library where the component will be available) and also associate one or more document. Selecting a classification It is mandatory to select at least one classification.
Adding documentsOnly one classification is currently available, this is the "User Classification". => Check the "User Classification". As soon as a classification is selected, the red tick will be replaced with a green one. This mean the component is ready to be added to the library. To be able to start the "add parts" process, ALL the files MUST have a green tick. This is only then that the "OK" button will be activated. About the buttons of the "Classifications" tab It is NOT Mandatory to associate document to a component.
Click the "Documents" tab, click the "Add" button to select one or more documents to associate to the component. About the "Documents" tab buttons Notes: Once all the files will have at least one classification, they will be all preceed with a green tick and the "OK" button will be activated. The add parts process can be started. Note: By default, the "User" classification does not exist in TraceParts. It is automatically created the first time that a part is added to the library.
